The Origins of the Seven Clans

Long before humankind kept record of time, when the earth was still soft and the sky untouched, dragons were one. A single, radiant being of pure energy, carrying within it the blueprint of all creation. It breathed stars into existence, sculpted mountains with its wings, and whispered rivers into song.
But as humankind grew, the veil between realms thickened. People forgot where they came from. They no longer heard the song of the stars nor felt the pulse of the earth. To protect the hidden knowledge and keep balance between realms, the primal dragon chose to divide itself into seven reflections — each carrying a piece of truth, each holding a key to remembrance.
Thus, the Seven Clans of the Dragon Ward were born.
Why Seven?
Seven has always been sacred. It is the number of balance and wholeness:
The seven stars of the ancient constellations.
The seven tones of the cosmic song.
The seven directions of spirit — north, south, east, west, above, below, and within.
To split into seven ensured that no single force would dominate. Each clan would guard one aspect of the hidden truth, and only together could they weave the full tapestry of knowledge.
Why These Colors?
The colors of the clans are not mere hues, but living vibrations — the eternal laws of existence made visible.
Obsidian Nightclaw (Black): Born of volcanic fire and shadow. Guardians of endings, mystery, and transformation.
Frostspire (White): Forged from ancient glaciers. Keepers of purity, clarity, and the eternal flame of light.
Rubyscorch (Red): Born in the first fires of earth’s core. Carriers of passion, creation, and sacrifice.
Lazuritail (Blue): Shaped by the depths of oceans. Holders of intuition, flow, and the wisdom of tides.
Emeraldvine (Green): Rooted in the first forests. Givers of renewal, growth, and the sacred bond of spirit and soil.
Jasperspine (Brown): Formed from the bones of mountains. Protectors of endurance, strength, and stability.
Glasswing (Crystal): Awakened by the first ray of sunlight upon stone. Bridges of unity, the prism through which divine truth shines.
The Legacy of the Ward
From the moment of their birth, the Seven Clans became the guardians of hidden knowledge. They watch as humanity slowly awakens, choosing only a few — the ones strong enough to remember, to carry a spark of the eternal truth.
